Introduction

The Transit Technology System is comprised of three layers:

  1. Transit Merchant Network: a mesh layer designed to simplify customer identification, token validation and redemption inside the most highly protected and sensitive merchant environments in the world — the retail countertop.
  2. Transit Transaction Service: cloud based identity management, vouchering (leveraging bCODE and QR code), and token mapping between the Transit Merchant Network and the Transit Cloud (’from the POS to the Cloud’).
  3. Transit Market Portal: brand and merchant dashboards designed to surface data and analytics and manage millions of digital member bases - showing real time traffic, engagement and spend.

This document serves as a reference and integration guide to the Transit Merchant Network.

The Transit Merchant Network:

The Transit Merchant Network is a mesh layer designed to simplify customer identification, token validation and redemption inside the most highly protected and sensitive merchant environments in the world— the retail countertop.

The Transit Merchant Network can be thought of as a routing and execution infrastructure for rapidly deploying service integrations, with support for important primitives such as

  • Consumer Identity
  • Actionable Tokens
  • Privacy & Anonymisation

New service integrations, such as customer loyalty programs, can be built using these primitives and published onto a growing marketplace of apps and services. New service integrations can be deployed in the merchant environment with either no or significantly reduced modification to the merchant POS and back office systems.

Designed to reduce integration overhead of new services within the merchant environment and this philosophy extends to running and the administration of the network itself. Where possible we leverage existing standards, automate management and provide flexibility around deployment options.
